Most would never think of a Miata as being a bad ass drift machine with a mind-blowing stance. The uneducated may scoff at the sight of a regular Miata, but the more informed enthusiast will see great potential.

To this day, the Miatas (or MX-5s, as they solely go by, now) are regarded as one of the best driver's cars on the market. Darrin saw the great possibilities and quickly turned this NA into something truly crazy.

It started with a narrower set of the same Diamond Racing wheels, but with the quarters already heavily pulled from the previous owner's wheel setup (15x8" -12), he needed to fill those arches a little more snuggly. Or a lot more snuggly, in this case.

Already having one of the absolute lowest ride heights I've seen on an NA, he threw on some wheels to totally blow the Miata game out of the water. He went for 13x9" -13 offset up front, allowing him to keep his outrageous lowness and have the perfect amount of flushness, but out back...that's a different story. 13x10s with a final offset of -29 are barely contained by the pulled quarters, but with the help of 185/60-13 Sumitomos and some beautiful camber, they fit perfectly.

Most NAs with crazy stances have their faded paint and oxidized clear coat going strong, but Darrin went the extra mile by getting the car resprayed. It looks to be a great job, and it certainly adds to how clean this car truly is.

And what seems to be hardly mobile is actually driven into the ground at drift day events, so this is certainly no hard-parker. Just look at those pinch welds... Hovering mere millimeters off of the pavement. And people say that an 8" +0 is perfect for these cars... Leave that stuff at home and save yourself the embarrassment.

In it's entirety, this car is probably at the top of the heavy hitters list, as far as Miata stance is concerned. The color combo is one that I would never think of, but looks pretty fantastic, in my opinion. It's cars such as this that push me to start putting more money aside for an NA.

The Virgin Tib

There are always those gems in the automotive community that go without the recognition they deserve, and this 2008 Tiburon GT is a prime example. After many ups and downs, and even the thought of parting the car out, Nick Lucido has managed to produce the beautiful example of an F/L2 Tiburon that you see here. It was no easy task, of course, and has taken nearly 2 years to reach its current state. What would that current state be? Damn near perfection.

Most F/L2 Tiburon owners stray away from the factory bumper when it comes time to mod the exterior. Most turn to Hana for their aggressive, somewhat-F/L styled bumper, but not Nick. No, he turned to Kevin at NIA Auto Design to help in designing a custom lip kit and eyelines for the F/L2s. Not only are the resulting pieces of the utmost quality, but they accentuate the factory-bodied car in the best ways possible, leaving you with the menacing supercharged beast depicted in these pictures.

Now, moving onto the highlight-area of this blog: the stance. You'll find no stretch here, but 18x9" Rota Boosts with 235/40 Hankook V12s to put all of the 290 whp of that iced Stage II Sniper supercharger straight to the pavement. With offsets of +20 and +15, dropped all the way down on Tein SS coils, there's certainly nothing to scoff at. The stance has been done right, and it functions.

If there's something that the Tiburon community desperately lacks, it's taste. That is what makes gorgeous examples like this stand out so immensely among all of the others. With such an exotic looking car, all you have to do is keep it simple. And Nick has certainly done that in all of the right ways. This is definitely a Tib to keep an eye on, because you never know what he may have up his sleeve.

Well, let's try this again. I used to update this in class, but since I'm no longer in school, I have completely forgotten about it! Haha

Over the past weekend, I headed down to Houston for CupCake Meet #8. I stayed with a friend of mine and cruised up with a group of Korean automobiles (and another Honda), and here's a few pics that have been posted around. Sorry for the lack of coverage. My camera got stolen a couple of months ago, so I have to rely on other people's pics.

This is a beautiful example of why I absolutely must acquire an NA Miata at some point in the near future. Owned by Harry of the Slamburglars (durty harry), I just don't see how anything could be any lower. Note that the oil pan shot is AFTER he raised the motor a little bit! Crazy. And I love it so much.

Found this a while back. Definitely one of the widest Miatas I've ever seen! Is it too much? You be the judge. I think it'd look quite a bit better with at least a little more camber and lowness.

C's Garage S13 Coupe

This is basically my favorite S13 of all time. I'll try to post my other favorite tomorrow! BN Sports kit, slammed to the ground, and driven like nobody's business! Another prime example of how a drift car should be. He is now running some Equips in the rear, as seen in the second pic. I could look at this thing all day! It definitely pushes me that much closer to getting an S13 Coupe...

Fender flare time!

I ordered some Korean fender flares a few nights ago, and I believe I'm gonna be the only one around that has them! Especially slammed with some poke. ;)

Here's some pics from Korea of cars with them. So over the winter I'll get these things molded on and find some wicked 3-piece wheels! Hopefully it comes out looking like I want.

Wheels are gonna be a tough choice, but I'm thinking about the Meister 3-piece, SSR Professor SP1, or maybe rebuilding some Equips. 18x10s in front is gonna be pretty crazy! I'm not sure how much room I'm gonna have to work with, but I might be able to run 6" of lip in back.

The first pic has awful fitment and ride height, but picturing that with some poke and basically sitting on the wheel, I think it'll look pretty bad ass. I hope... Haha

I found this gem a while back, and it's just ridiculous, to say the least. What looks even crazier is how the front wheels are turned. I've just never seen a setup like this with the wheels turned, so it really throws me off. Haha

It's definitely a little extreme, but you know it'd be pretty cool to see in person!

Well, I took some photos a couple of days ago, and they came out pretty well for a point-and-shoot camera, I thought. I need a new camera so bad... Then I can get down to business when photo time comes around! I think I'm just gonna get a D60 for now and see how it treats me.

Here it is! :) I still need to do a couple of final adjustments (space the passenger side out another mm or so) and get an alignment pretty badly. I ended up with more camber than I thought, so I was happy! I even had spattered rubber (those are definitely not scratches or dirt! Haha). The specs ended up being 18x10 +31 with a 225/40 FK452. I'm loving it so far!

Phaze2 S2K

I remember the first time I saw the Phaze2 S2K after it's little makeover... This car is so on point that it's ridiculous. That rear shot is PERFECT. I would be scared shitless to see that aggressive rear end. Haha

It used to be black with white Meisters, and it was incredible then. Unbeatable, I thought. But then he went and did this and put everyone to shame...

Super Clean EF

I'll admit, I've never been a fan of any EF Civics. A four door would be the last EF that I thought I would approve of...but I can't help but like this one. This four door is clean, low, and flush. What more can you ask for? I found this gem a month or so ago, but I was just browsing through my photos and had to share it. Slammed on 16x9" +0 RS' all around.

Matt Powers' 240 has been a long time favorite of mine. It just looks so...real, I guess is the word. A true drift car, expressing his true style, no matter what. Even beat to hell and with a Zenki front end, you can't help but love this car. And there's no denying that he doesn't enjoy it! Easily the lowest car I've ever seen on coils. It looks like his sideskirt is literally ON THE GROUND. THAT is how it's done, my friends. Enjoy...

Well folks, this is the man that got me into aggressive fitment. On the forums, he goes by sno37c. He's another Tyler, which I didn't know until recently! Pretty wild.

He's on KSports and Spyn Motiv wheels, Spyn being a strictly Canadian company. I wish this guy lived closer. :(

He gave me guidance from the get go, and I still love his car just as much as I did the first time I saw it. Definitely an awesome Tib! He's been talking about staggering some 18x9s and 18x10s, or maybe even running some 18x9.5" Bee*Rs that I showed him. No matter what he picks, it will undoubtably dominate!

Hello all!

My name is Tyler Williams, and this blog is dedicated to my love for aggressive fitment and stupidly low ride

heights.

So far I've been somewhat of an "innovator", if you will, in the Tiburon (yes, Tiburon) community, I guess. I'm the first to be slammed on 18x8.5s and 18x9.5s and one of two that are actually slammed, as far as I know. At the moment, I'm waiting for my tires to arrive, then I'll be the first on this side of the planet to run a 18x10, and the first ever to be slammed on an 18x10. Woo!

Sorry if any of that seemed braggadocios, just trying to give you all a little background on me. :)

I also just recently purchased a '92 Civic hatch for my current daily driver, but it will be completely stripped down and redone in the near future!

This blog will be updated regularly with progress on my cars, as well as updates in other flush and low communities. Lastly, thanks to groups like Fatlace, WFC, and StanceWorks for supporting the stanced way of life, and thanks to people like the Risky Devil crew for driving the the absolute hell out of their cars while looking damn good.
